Hey everyone, it is Brad, welcome to our recipe page. Today, I will show you a way to make a distinctive dish, classic victoria sponge. It is one of my favorites. This time, I will make it a little bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Classic Victoria Sponge is one of the most favored of current trending meals on earth. It’s easy, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. Classic Victoria Sponge is something that I’ve loved my whole life. They’re fine and they look wonderful.

To get started with this recipe, we must first prepare a few components. You can have classic victoria sponge using 9 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Classic Victoria Sponge:
  1. Take 225 g soft butter/soft margerine
  2. Prepare 225 g Caster Sugar
  3. Get 225 g Self raising flour
  4. Take 4 Eggs
  5. Make ready 2 teaspoons baking powder
  6. Get for the filling
  7. Prepare Gert dollops of whatever jam you fancy!
  8. Get 140 g soft butter
  9. Get 225 g Icing sugar
Instructions to make Classic Victoria Sponge:
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees and grease 2 x 8" sandwich tins
  2. Put ALL the cake ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix till smooth (either by hand or with a mixer!). Then divide the cake batter evenly between the tins.
  3. Put in the oven and bake for about 25 mins until risen. Remove from the oven and leave to cool for a few minutes before turning out on a wire rack to cool.
  4. Whilst the cakes are cooking/cooling, mix the Icing sugar and butter together until smooth.
  5. When the cakes are cool, spread a good dollop of your chosen jam over one half of the cake. Then spread the buttercream on the other half (saving half for the top if you prefer)
  6. "Sandwich" the two cakes together and there it is, in all its scrumminess 😊❀️
