Stir in lime juice and season to taste with salt. Toss with the onion, fresh coriander, and raisins. In a small saute pan, heat the oil over medium heat, add the curry powder, and stir.

Grind the grated coconut along with remaining turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder, fenugreek seeds,ginger piece, garlic, shallots/pearl onions and tamarind to a fine paste adding enough water. Once the oil is hot add the chopped onions and garlic.
