Instructions to make Nepali’s Gurung Bread:
  1. Mix all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Gradually add water, just enough, until a soft dough is formed. Knead briefly and set aside for 20- 30mins.
  2. Divide the dough into preferred portions. On a lightly greased/oiled worktop, roll dough flat into preferred thickness (preferably thin). Use a knife or butter knife to slash two parallel lines into the dough.
  3. Heat the oil. Deep fry the dough one by one in hot oil over medium low heat. Remove from the oil once they are golden & puffed up. Place on kitchen towels to absorb oil.
  4. Serve warm with a sprinkle of salt then drizzle maple syrup or honey on top. Alternatively, one can serve this bread with cinnamon sugar or chicken curry too. This bread is kinda chewy once cooled. Microwave for 40 seconds before serving.
